SITE TERMS
Website Terms of Use
Effective July 31, 2026. These terms govern the public Litmus Insurance Solutions website. Additional terms are presented when you access the Litmus Insurance Solutions client portal powered by Litmus Risk.
1. Scope of These Terms
These Website Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of litmusinsurance.com and the public webpages that link to these Terms (collectively, the "Website").
The Website is operated by Litmus Holdings, Inc. under the Litmus Insurance Solutions name ("Litmus," "we," "us," or "our").
These Terms govern the public Website. They do not replace any additional terms presented when you create or use an authenticated Litmus Insurance Solutions client-portal account. The client portal is powered by Litmus Risk technology and may be subject to additional account or service terms presented when you access or register for it. The Litmus Privacy Statement applies across the Website, client portal, and related Services that link to it.
Insurance brokerage, Claims Coaching, consulting, or other professional services may also be governed by separate applications, proposals, engagement agreements, service agreements, disclosures, carrier documents, or policy terms. If those documents conflict with these Terms, the service-specific documents control for that service.
By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the Website.
2. Insurance Brokerage Services
Litmus Insurance Solutions is a full-service property and casualty insurance brokerage serving individuals, families, and businesses.
Insurance services are offered only in jurisdictions where Litmus and the professionals involved are properly licensed. The availability of insurance products, carriers, and services varies by jurisdiction, product, and risk.
California licenses:
- CA Property and Casualty License #6017185
- CA Adjuster License #2N60154
Licensing information may be verified through the applicable state insurance regulator.
3. Website Information Is Not Insurance Coverage
Website content is provided for general informational and educational purposes. It is not a complete description of any insurance product, policy, coverage, exclusion, condition, or service.
Nothing on the Website constitutes:
- A binder or contract of insurance
- Confirmation that coverage is in effect
- A guarantee that insurance will be available
- A guarantee of any premium, limit, policy term, or claim outcome
- Legal, tax, accounting, investment, or financial advice
Actual coverage is governed exclusively by the insurance policy and related documents issued by the insurance carrier. If Website content differs from an issued policy, the policy controls.
4. Quotes, Applications, and Requests
Submitting a contact form, requesting a review, asking for a quote, creating a client-portal request, or providing information through the Website does not create insurance coverage and does not obligate Litmus or any insurer to offer, quote, bind, or issue a policy.
A quotation is subject to underwriting, verification of information, carrier requirements, product availability, and any stated conditions. Coverage becomes effective only after it has been confirmed in writing by an authorized insurance professional or carrier and all applicable conditions have been satisfied.
You agree that information you submit will be accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. If you submit information for another person or business, you represent that you are authorized to do so.
5. No Time-Sensitive Insurance Instructions
Do not use a general Website form to:
- Report an insurance claim
- Request that coverage be bound
- Add, remove, or change coverage
- Cancel or renew a policy
- Change an insured, vehicle, property, or location
- Communicate a deadline-sensitive instruction
A Website or client-portal submission is not effective until it has been received, reviewed, and expressly acknowledged by an authorized insurance professional.
Claims should be reported directly to the appropriate insurance carrier using the reporting instructions in the applicable policy unless Litmus gives you different instructions.
6. Claims Coaching
Claims Coaching may provide practical insurance education, organization, communication support, and guidance concerning the claims process. Its precise scope and any applicable fees will be confirmed separately before work begins.
Claims Coaching does not guarantee coverage, payment, or any particular claim outcome. It does not replace your obligation to provide timely notice to the insurer, protect property from further damage, preserve documentation, or comply with policy conditions and deadlines.
Through Claims Coaching, Litmus does not act as your attorney, engineer, accountant, contractor, or public adjuster. Claims Coaching does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, or public-adjuster relationship. When your circumstances call for another licensed or qualified professional, you remain responsible for selecting and retaining that professional.
7. Carrier Relationships and Compensation
Litmus may have access to multiple insurance carriers, programs, wholesalers, and other insurance-market participants. Litmus does not represent that it works with every insurer or that every carrier or product is available for every risk.
Insurance placement is subject to licensing, carrier appointments, underwriting, and geographic availability.
Litmus may receive commissions from insurance carriers and may receive fees or other compensation where permitted by law. Any compensation requiring separate disclosure or agreement will be disclosed as required.
8. Litmus Insurance Solutions Client Portal
The consumer-facing client portal is branded for Litmus Insurance Solutions and powered by Litmus Risk technology. Within that experience, insurance shopping, brokerage services, policy support, and Claims Coaching are provided by Litmus Insurance Solutions. The Litmus Risk platform supplies technology and does not itself sell insurance.
The client portal is not offered as a direct-to-consumer Litmus Risk subscription. It is a Litmus Insurance Solutions client experience that may allow you to create an account, connect or upload policies, organize assets, review insurance information, request assistance, communicate with Litmus Insurance Solutions, or shop for insurance.
Additional client-portal or account terms may be presented when you create or access an account. Descriptions or screenshots of client-portal functionality on the Website are informational and may use anonymized, illustrative, or sample information. Features may change or be unavailable based on account status, location, integration availability, or service scope.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not upload information you are not authorized to provide.
Document extraction, Risk Intelligence, AI assistants, and other automated features may be incomplete, inaccurate, or based on incomplete information. They do not bind coverage, replace an issued policy, constitute a quote or professional recommendation, or guarantee an insurance or claim outcome. Review important information and consult a licensed Litmus Insurance Solutions professional before making insurance decisions.
9. Permitted Use
You may use the Website for personal purposes or for the legitimate internal needs of a business you are authorized to represent.
You may not:
- Use the Website for an unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading purpose
- Submit false, speculative, automated, or unauthorized insurance requests
- Attempt to interfere with the Website's operation or security
- Introduce malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
- Copy, scrape, or systematically extract Website content
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority

10. Intellectual Property
The Website and its text, graphics, photographs, designs, software, logos, trademarks, and other content are owned by or licensed to Litmus and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Litmus, Litmus Risk, Litmus Insurance Solutions, and associated names and marks are trademarks of Litmus Holdings, Inc.
You may view and print reasonable portions of the Website for personal or internal business use. No other right or license is granted without prior written permission.
11. Third-Party Websites, Carriers, and Integrations
The Website and client portal may link to or connect with insurance carriers, data providers, technology providers, and other third-party services.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Litmus does not control and is not responsible for every aspect of their availability, security, accuracy, accessibility, or practices. A link or integration does not necessarily constitute endorsement of every product, service, or statement provided by the third party.
Your use of an integration may require you to authorize the third party to disclose information or to accept its terms. Review those terms and permissions before connecting an account.
12. Privacy and Electronic Communications
Personal information collected through the Website, the Litmus Insurance Solutions client portal, and related Services that link to it is handled according to the Litmus Privacy Statement. Additional legally required financial-privacy, carrier, or service notices may apply to a particular brokerage or client relationship.
When you submit a Website or client-portal form, you authorize Litmus to contact you regarding the request using the contact information you provide. Consent to receive marketing communications will be addressed separately where required. You may withdraw marketing consent using the instructions in the communication, but we may still send non-marketing communications relating to a request, account, transaction, or service.
Electronic communications may not always be secure or error-free. You are responsible for using reasonable care when deciding what information to send by email or through a general Website form.
13. Website Availability and Disclaimers
The Website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Litmus disclaims warranties concerning the Website's accuracy, completeness, availability, security, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Litmus does not guarantee that the Website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Litmus and its affiliates, officers, employees, representatives, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Website.
This limitation applies to Website use and does not alter obligations Litmus may separately accept under an insurance brokerage or professional-services agreement.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Litmus against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Website, your material violation of these Terms, or information you submit without authorization.
This section does not apply to claims resulting from Litmus's own negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.
16. Changes to the Website or These Terms
Litmus may update the Website and these Terms periodically. Updated Terms become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
The "Last Updated" date will identify the most recent revision. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any service-specific agreement that applies, any legal proceeding arising solely from these Terms or use of the Website must be brought in a state or federal court located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
18. Severability and Waiver
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be modified or limited only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain effective.
A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
